Old Internet Stories

The Holders Series

This series emerged from the imageboards and began even before the dedicated 'paranormal' board was created. It's something of a precursor to the SCP series and like its successor, got worse as time went on but never reached the same lows, in my opinion. That said, there were plenty I remember reading that were never archived but you wouldn't be missing out on much. I still have to credit this series for huge amounts of inspiration in my own writings (also lost, also bad), drawings (bad), and attempts at roleplays with my friends that never took off because my ideas were too weird. Truly, I was ahead of my time now that the children are all playing in the backrooms on Roblox or whatever.

The Dionaea House

This series drove me crazy, I liked it so much. It felt truly multimedia as far as the internet could go back then, starting as a series of correspondences between a grieving friend group, branching out into the blog of an innocent girl caught in the crossfires, one of the friend's from the first story's account, and then finally the journal of a tough as nails but down on her luck inheritor of the eponymous house. Unfortunately the latter three are all gone now and I only have less immersive archives, but the text of them survives here.
